The third installment of our multi-part series on the EU AI Act, (see Part One here and Part Two here) provide details on the regulations approach to systems capable of performing a wide range of tasks and integrating into various applications, referred to by the Act as “general-purpose models.” The Act imposes obligations related to transparency, risk management, and compliance, and requires the EU to be notified if a model poses systemic risks.
